Acupuncture Isn't Painful Like Shots Are

Acupuncture is not painful in the way that hypodermic shots are, although occasionally a sharp prick may be felt that passes instantly. Subsequently, depending on the condition being treated, a dull ache may be elicited, not unlike that felt during massage. This ache will soon fade, followed by a relaxation of the surrounding musculature, as well as the whole body.

Acupuncture Helps with a Great Variety of Conditions

Receiving an acupuncture treatment is usually experienced as very relaxing, as well as ameliorative of the condition(s) being treated. Pain usually responds most rapidly, with results often being seen immediately after the first treatment. Other types of conditions take a bit longer to resolve, depending on their severity and duration prior to beginning treatment. With most conditions, I usually ask my patients to commit to three visits. After the first two treatments, both the patient and myself have a much better understanding of how the acupuncture is working. At the third visit, if there is not complete relief of the symptom(s), we will set up a comprehensive treatment plan that we both can agree upon.
